April 19, 2022

Beebe Healthcare’s Medical Staff has awarded scholarships to three senior students at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare this year – Tyler Allen Bowman from Milford, Josephine Melson from Milton and Amaya Wright from Milford.

The scholarships recognize exceptional clinical performance in nursing, in accordance with the criteria established by the nursing school’s student services committee.

The medical staff at Beebe Healthcare recognizes the support of nursing education is a very important component of its mission in the promotion and delivery of healthcare in Sussex County.

The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare has a long, proud history, and a tradition of excellence in nursing education. It remains the only community hospital-based institution in Delaware to continue to fulfill this mission.

The medical staff created the Nursing Scholars program to support the education of eligible candidates in the school of nursing, which includes the candidate’s expressed intention of working in the local community after graduation.

Each of the recipients has received offers for employment at Beebe Healthcare after graduation. These students chose to attend the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing because of its reputation for a rigorous program with graduates who have excellent clinical skills. The students also recognize that its graduates have consistently high pass rates on the registered nurse licensure exam. Each of the recipients plans to continue their education after graduation with an ultimate goal of completing a master’s degree in nursing.
