Beginner Wheel Throwing classes set at Rehoboth Art League Mar. 11-14

March 7, 2019

Release one’s inner artist and develop a new skill with the potter's wheel. This is the perfect class to introduce wheel throwing. Beginner Wheel Throwing at the Rehoboth Art League is a series of four classes scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, March 11-14 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.

Local potter Myndi Smithers will teach participants the proper techniques and methods of keeping the clay piece centered and balanced as well as how to pull the clay up into a cylinder and then shape it. The cost is $165 per person for members and $200 per person for nonmembers. The registration fee includes the cost of clay, bisque firing of pieces and glazing of the piece made on Day 1. Expect to get messy, be challenged, and leave with a new skill set!

To register for Beginner Wheel Throwing go to www.rehobothartleague.org or call 302-227-8408 Ext. 112. All classes are held at the Rehoboth Art League, 12 Dodds Lane in Henlopen Acres.

The Art League is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making art accessible to all. This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.  The Division promotes Delaware arts events on www.DelawareScene.com.
