A whimsical new piece of temporary art was recently installed by Art in Bloom in front of the Village Shoppes at the Beacon Inn, 520 East Savannah Road, Lewes.
Three bicycles — a tandem, a girls’ bike and an adult tricycle — were spray-painted and transformed into a work of art with living plants, titled “Pedals in Bloom.”
Project organizers hope to bring smiles to people's faces as they walk or bike along Savannah Road on their way to and from the beach.
Many thanks go to the following people for their help in the project: Maggie Lingo from the Beacon Inn; Megan Kellman from Lewes Cycle Sports, who supplied the tandem; John Tidwell, who gave the tricycle; welder CP Lucas; Emily Keyser-Gofus from Rays Produce & Flowers at the Brush Factory on Kings; Dylan Kaplan of Floral Inspirations; and the three inspired hard workers from Art in Bloom who painted and installed the piece, Dave Beck, Tony Boyd-Heron and Ed Zygmonski.
