Big Oyster Brewery releases two new beers

March 17, 2022

Big Oyster Brewery is releasing two new distribution beers.

Atlantico Mexican-style lager’s name stems from the fact that it's made in the Mid-Atlantic region at the Delaware beaches, but the beer itself is derived from the use of corn, which is what makes Mexican lagers a great choice. This light, crisp and refreshing beer will leave people longing for another. Adding a lime wedge can make folks feel like they are on a beach somewhere with no cares or worries. Atlantico, a new addition to Big Oyster’s core profile, is 4.4% alcohol by volume, and brewed with pilsner malt and flaked maize (corn) to produce a subtle crispness and a clean finish. The label was designed by local painter Laura Erickson.

Shuck It oyster stout is an ode to the name Big Oyster Brewery. Historically, oyster stout originated in the late 1800s when brewers found out that oyster shells are packed with calcium carbonate, which could be used to purify and improve the beer while brewing. The crew at Big Oyster is keeping the tradition of Oyster Stout alive by adding their own spin on it to make this rich and roasty sweet stout brewed with locally harvested oysters. Hints of dark chocolate and toasty bread will satisfy even the most sophisticated taste buds. Coming in at 6.2% ABV, Shuck It will have everyone dreaming of relaxing days on the bay. The label was made by local designer Mandee Margherita.
