Big Oyster dining to benefit Center for Inland Bays March 11

March 6, 2024

The Delaware Center for the Inland Bays and Big Oyster Brewery are teaming up to host a dine and donate event from 3 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 11, at 1007 Kings Highway, Lewes.

Big Oyster Brewery will donate 20% of all sales to support the vital conservation efforts of the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays. As a participant in CIB's Don't Chuck Your Shucks oyster shell recycling program, Big Oyster will also feature special oyster dishes alongside its regular menu offerings. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the center's ongoing programs and initiatives aimed at protecting and restoring the watershed.

In addition to enjoying great food and drinks for a good cause, attendees can also contribute to the center’s sustainability efforts by dropping off their own discarded oyster shells for recycling through Don’t Chuck Your Shucks. These shells play a crucial role in habitat restoration and supporting oyster populations in the Inland Bays.

To commemorate this event, a limited-edition CIB and Big Oyster collaborative T-shirt will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Don't Chuck Your Shucks program. Raffles throughout the night will also benefit the center and give participants the opportunity to win exciting, Inland Bays-themed prizes.

"We're thrilled to partner with Big Oyster Brewery for this special dine and donate event," said Mark Carter, director of development at the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays. "It's a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together, enjoy delicious food, and support our mission of protecting and preserving the Inland Bays."
