Blanche Marie Molock, loved her church
Blanche Marie Molock, 91, departed her life peacefully Monday, June 21, 2021, at Vitura Hospital in Marlton, N.J. Blanche was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Seaford to the late Viola Horsey and William Griffin.
Blanche received her early education at William C. Jason High School in Georgetown, and continued her education at Maryland State College in Princess Anne, Md., and later transferred to Shaw University in North Carolina.
Blanche was employed as a chef while she was living in Philadelphia, Pa. She retired and moved back home to Delmar, where she volunteered at Harvest Ministries until she took ill.
Blanche was a loving and caring mother, and she loved her sons dearly, and in her eyes, they could not do anything wrong. Blanche loved music, going to church and being with her church family. She loved traveling, going to the flea market, spending time with her brothers and sisters and their families. Blanche loved all kinds of fashion and loved drinking Pepsi and eating taffy candy all day. She also loves the Philadelphia Eagles football team and 76ers basketball team. Blanche had a heart of gold, and was a stranger to no one and would help anyone who needed help.
Blanche served on several committees at her church, serving as a worship leader, she was on the culinary committee, a Jolly Timers, and chaplain for the Union United Methodist Choir.
Preceded her in death were her mother Viola Horsey and father William Griffin; stepfather William Horsey; a son, Ronald Molock; a granddaughter, Chlonda Thower, and her two brothers, Leroy (Roscoe) Horsey and Steve Griffin.
Blanche leaves to cherish her loving memory, her sons Blair (Champ) and Garry Molock of Delmar; her stepmother-in-law Sylvia Griffin of Frankford; her brothers, Johnny (Ruby) Molock of San Antonio, Texas, Franklin (Della) Horsey of Salisbury, Md., Russell (Lavern) Horsey of Delmar, Herbert (Phyllis) Horsey of Salisbury, Robert (Beverly) Horsey of Salisbury, Delore (Floyd) Wright of Salisbury, Doris Ann (Edward) Simmons of Salisbury, Burnette Lamont Griffin of Frankford, Elder Floyd (Marylean) Griffin of Frankford, Sophia (Joseph) Marcelus of Frankford, Penelope (Elder Thornton) Pitts of Frankford, Lloyd (Lynette) Griffin of Frankford; a granddaughter, Star Molock of Virginia; a grandson, James Thower of Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, nephews and a special friend who was like a daughter to her, Diane Cornish.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 3, at noon, with a viewing two hour prior to service at St. James Free Methodist Church, 23614 Head of Creek Road, Quantico, Md..
