The Annual Blessing of the Fleet was held May 6 at Fisherman's Wharf. This traditional event, carried out by the Rev. Robert Shockley, is dedicated to ensure a safe and bountiful season for the fishermen.
A wreath is also placed in the canal in remembrance of local fishermen who have lost their lives.
This year the wreath was laid in honor and remembrance of Darren Walsh who passed away in 2017. Walsh's father, JB Walsh, owns the Anglers Marina on the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal.
