Blocker doctors - Dr. Trip DelCampo of Midway Chiropractic has welcomed Dr. Devin Miller into his practice – “We talkin’ practice, man.” “We’re excited to have him join the practice. He’s a fantastic doctor and a better young man. He’s knowledgeable, kind and compassionate, not like those D-linemen,” Trip said. Devin played center for Cape and then Wesley College, while Tripp was an offensive tackle at Cape who later started on the 2003 University of Delaware national championship team. Tripp, the businessman, said, “Midway Chiropractic is in Midway Shopping Center. We have chiropractic, acupuncture and massage. I’ve been in practice for 15 years; Dr. Miller practiced in Florida for a year and just moved home. We take nearly all insurances including Medicare.” On the field, a crack back will cost you 15, but in the office it relieves the pain, doesn't bring the pain, and it’s covered by insurance.
Gracious goalie - Props to the Double G represented by the Double S of Polytech – goalie Sabrina Siaca. I saw Panthers coach Judy Rippert after Cape’s 5-0 victory carrying a placard that read “Sabrina 100 saves.” I asked the coach if Sabrina played the whole game and she said, “Yes. She had 30 saves.” I saw a player who I assumed was Sabrina the goalie because of the luggage surrounding her feet like she was about to take a transcontinental flight. I told her congrats, asked if she had fun facing 40 shots, told her I admired and was impressed by the game she played. “I’d love to get your photo, but I have to back up because of this big lens so don’t go anywhere,” I said. “I”m going to go get my poster for the photo,” she said. “Don’t you go anywhere.” The Panthers always keep the world in perspective.
Breakout stars - “You know why they don’t put teenagers in prison? Because they keep breaking out.” Here comes Fredman with his dry, old jokes. As a high school teacher, I had lots of dry, old jokes, and some of them were even funny. What I don’t like are preseason all-conference lists or top 50 players, while the season is in progress. Play the game, then select the stars; just don’t put bling around their necks promoting your own media outlet.
What are the odds - Go to Vegas. The odds are the actual people sitting at slot machines at 3 a.m. smoking and drinking are there because they enjoy all the self-destructive compulsions. Take NFL football where the odds are set not by football experts – there are none – but by money wagered, so we really don’t know if the Eagles are four points better than the Broncos or if the Birds will get blown out like the Bengals. Follow this quote from circalasveags.com: “The more time goes on and the longer these lines are bet into, the more sportsbooks around the world feel comfortable with recognizing the consensus line of the opener sportsbooks as the line they will utilize to do business. As sportsbooks around the world hang their lines, more and more bets begin to pour in, further solidifying what each book will utilize as their betting line.” Translation: Bet the house, because that’s who wins in sports gambling.

As a sports guy trapped outside, the best thing about wind is it blows away the bugs; otherwise, it's mostly annoying. Go on now, git!
