A Bridgeville man faces felony drug charges following a traffic stop May 19 in Angola.

Delaware State Police on patrol at 2:15 a.m. observed a white Lincoln MKX crossing the center line of Route 24 near Camp Arrowhead road, said Sr. Cpl. Leonard DeMalto of the Delaware State Police.

Police pulled over Jesse Drummond, 31, and he told an officer that his driver’s license was suspended and he had an active warrant for his arrest. Troopers also smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the car’s interior, DeMalto said. Drummond was taken into custody at the scene without incident. During a search of Drummond and the vehicle, DeMalto said, police found about 15 grams of cocaine, about 9 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and over $2,400 in suspected drug proceeds.

Drummond was transported to Troop 7 and charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, felony tampering with evidence, and other drug and traffic charges.

Drummond was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $33,401 cash bond.
