Bruce in the USA to perform Sept. 6 at Freeman Stage

Operation SEAS the Day to attend as special guests
May 21, 2019

The Freeman Stage is excited to announce Bruce in the USA will perform Friday, Sept. 6, where honored guests from Operation SEAs the Day will be in attendance.

Operation SEAs the Day is a beach week for wounded veterans and their families, which will take place Sept. 3-8, now in its seventh year. The wounded veterans have gone from a battlefield to a hospital and then home - most have never received welcome home or a thank you for their service.

In addition to attending the performance, the VIFs (Very Important Families) will take part in A Hero’s Welcome parade. The families will depart from Sea Colony Marketplace in Bethany Beach and travel to The Freeman Stage in a motorcade. Local communities and businesses are encouraged line the streets to cheer and recognize the wounded warrior families.

The Freeman Stage has participated in Operation SEAs the Day for the last six years, said Executive Director Patti Grimes.

“This is one of our favorite projects,” she said. “To bring the community together to celebrate the service of others. We’re excited for the Hero’s Welcome and to have the families as our guest at Bruce in the USA. We invite the community to join us in celebrating the VIFs, too.”

Bruce in the USA is the ultimate celebration of Bruce Springsteen & The E. St. Band. Matt Ryan began playing the Springsteen character in 2000 in the “Legends In Concert” Las Vegas show. That great success brought him performances across the world, eventually evolving into the Bruce In The USA show.

The Bruce In The USA Band consists of seasoned world-class professional musicians. This high-energy musical experience is fun-filled and exciting and the ultimate celebration of Bruce Springsteen & The E St. Band’s legacy.

Tickets are $25 for adults and free for children 12 and under, and are available at freemanstage.org or by calling 302-436-3015.

“Operation SEAs The Day is very excited that Bruce in The USA will return to the stage during Warrior Beach week 2019,” said Annette Reeping, OSTD Board Member. “ ’Bruce in the USA is the ultimate celebration’ at Freeman Stage honoring America’s ultimate heroes - wounded soldiers and their families!”
