Dozens of people walked the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Oct. 3 for What Is Your Voice’s third annual Butterfly Bolt.
What Is Your Voice is a Lewes-area nonprofit founded by Jaqueline Sterbach. Its mission is to provide critical services to victims of domestic violence, such as shelter, counseling, linking victims to legal assistance, and more.
What Is Your Voice has been providing services for over a decade and is continuing to grow its facility, which is located off Shady Road. According to statistics found on the organization’s website, on an annual basis, What Is Your Voice spends 7,200 hours advocating, serves 972 households, receives more than 30,000 messages to its helpline and has more than $250,000 worth of mental health services donated.
The campus is a place where all the needs of a victim can be met, said Sterbach. It’s a holistic approach that helps victims on their journey forward, she said.
Following the walk, there was a gathering at Kiwi’s Cove.
