Camille Augustine Betts, active in community

Camille Augustine Betts, 92, of Milton passed away  Wednesday, Aug.15, 2018 at her home. 

Camille Augustine Betts was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Lock Haven, Pa., to her parents. Anthony J. and Sanitella Caprio. She was one of 10 children. After graduating from Immaculate Conception High School, she moved to Lewes in 1945, where she attended Beebe Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school and achieving her RN, she met and married Arthur M. Betts from Milton. Art and Camille were married for 42 years until his death in 1991.

In addition to her career in nursing, Camille was very active in her community of Milton. She was a member of the Milton Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, the Milton Century Club, the Milton Lions Club and was a member of Saint Jude the Apostle Catholic Church. Her hobbies were cooking, bird watching, baking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Camille is survived by five loving daughters and their families: Connie Walker of Bridgeville, Ceil Jones of Dover, Cynthia Betts of Ellicott City, Md., Denise Willey of Milton and Terry Parsons of Milton; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Cleo Bates of Lock Haven, and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes. A visitation will be held Sunday night, Aug. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton. A visitation will also be held Monday, Aug. 20, from 10 to 11 a.m., at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
The family suggests contributions to the Milton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, 116 Front St., Milton, DE 19968.
