CAMP Rehoboth Chorus to host British-themed concerts Feb. 16-18
The CAMP Rehoboth Chorus will open its 14th season by bringing a British musical invasion to Delmarva, celebrating rockers and balladeers from the past 60 years.
Concerts will take place during Presidents Day weekend, with performances set for 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Feb. 16 and 17, and 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 18, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, north of Rehoboth Beach.
Tickets are $25 and available at camprehoboth.com.
Musical highlights include Queen’s “We Are the Champions” and “Bohemian Rhapsody,” a finger-snapping, foot-shufflin’ version of Manfred Mann’s 1963 hit, “Do Wah Diddy Diddy,” Spice Girls’ “Wannabe,” the Eurythmics’ classic “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This),” the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” and “Night Fever,” and the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”
The chorus is led by Artistic Director Doug Yetter, who has inspired artists and audiences for 40 years as a composer, actor, director, conductor, producer and arranger. David Zipse and the CAMP Rehoboth Band have provided masterful musical accompaniment for the chorus since 2009.
Yetter often offers medleys galore at CAMP Rehoboth Chorus concerts. Audiences can expect spectacular arrangements of hits from Elton John, Petula Clark, Adele and more, plus a tribute to Andrew Lloyd Webber and a review of music by The Beatles to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the band’s appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show.” This concert will also feature the Alliance Singers of CAMP Rehoboth Chorus with, “I Want to Know What Love Is” and a surprise offering. Alliance is a select group of singers within the chorus who perform their own concert each September and perform extensively throughout Delmarva.
CAMP Rehoboth Chorus is a diverse group numbering 102 active members. It is a non-auditioned community group open to all and committed to presenting major, high-quality entertainment for audiences throughout the region.
