Nearly two dozen tractors, mostly retired and used for show, participated in the fifth annual Israel United Methodist Church Drive Your Tractor to Church Day Oct. 8.
The tractor parade started at Rabbit’s Ferry Community Center on Robinsonville Road before making its way to the church parking on Plantation Road.
Vernon Streett, event organizer, said he started the event because he wanted more people to be involved with the church. And, he said, everybody likes showing off their tractors.
As part of the event, there was a blessing of the tractors prior to the worship service. The United Methodist Women's Ministry accepted canned goods, pastas and other nonperishable food items in support of the Faith UMC soup kitchen pantry in Rehoboth Beach.
