A community walk was held May 13 in Bridgeville in memory of Mary Jane Brummell, who lost her 18-year-long cancer battle. She was an advocate for all cancer survivors, especially in western Sussex, and also a longtime supporter of the Cancer Support Community in Sussex County.
Brummell’s family and friends planned the walk. They collected donations in tribute to the memory of Brummell, and presented a check for $780 to Jo Allegro-Smith, director, Cancer Support Community Sussex County.
The Sussex facility is at 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Suite 312, Rehoboth. All educational programs, stress-release programs and support groups are offered at no cost to the person coping with cancer and their loved ones. Off-site programs are offered at Nanticoke Cancer Care Center in Seaford.
