Cannuli-Hearn engagement announced

Captain and Mrs. Jack Hearn of Lewes are pleased to announce the engagement of their son Michael Wilson Hearn to Rachel Amber Cannuli, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Cannuli of Springfield Township, N.J.

The bride-to-be graduated from Wilkes University, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in English with a minor in secondary education. She has also earned a master's degree in composition, language and rhetoric from Salisbury University. Currently, she is working on her second master's degree in school leadership. She is a tenured English teacher at Sussex Technical High School in Georgetown, where she has been employed since 2011.

The groom-elect graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, N.Y. He earned a bachelor of science degree in marine transportation, a U.S. Coast Guard license and an officer’s commission in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He currently holds an unlimited master’s license and is a Lieutenant USNR. He is employed as a ship’s officer by Overseas Shipholding Group.

An April 2019 wedding is planned at St. Edmond Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach. The couple will honeymoon in Bora Bora following the ceremony.
