The 2025 DIAA state champion Cape baseball team held its end-of-season banquet at Mitchell’s Farm June 13, to celebrate a historic season and hand out team and individual kudos.
The Team MVP award was presented to Jase Mitchell after his 2025 State of Delaware Player of the Year performance. The Offensive Player of the Year award went to Trey Hitchcock, while the Sportsmanship Award went to Brady Kosc. The Defensive Player of the Year was presented to Malachi Woods, with the Rookie of the Year award going to Emmett Wheatley.
“What a year,” said head coach Ben Evick. “These guys were really tight all year long starting in September. The seniors are a very special group that will forever have this bond that can’t be undone. They just know how to win and will continue on this path in life. This team means so much to me and the coaching staff. We want all of our teams to be successful, and this group has been extremely successful.”
