March 31, 2025

The Cape boys’ lacrosse team continued to power past its opponents, netting an 18-2 win over Polytech March 28 in Woodside.

The Vikings started the game with 10 goals in the first period, and continued to run past Polytech with six in the second period to go into halftime with a 16-1 advantage. They tallied one in each of the third and fourth periods to end the game with the running-clock 18-2 victory.

Burke Healy led the Vikings with four goals. Ryan Morgan, Evan Burris, Braddock Smith and Brenner Short each scored two. Tanner Wyshock, Alan Grapski, Carter Nemcic, Patrick Healy, Grant Conway and Marshall Keys each cranked a goal.

Healy was credited with six assists. Short helped on two scores. Morgan, Burris and Eric Uffelman each assisted on a goal.

Cape junior goalie Mason Trench made five saves, while Patrick Little stopped two scoring attempts.

“I didn’t think we shot particularly well,” said Cape coach Geoff Shupard. “But Polytech was scrappy on defense and played hard. I was happy with how we moved the ball and assisted on several goals, and I thought we cleared pretty well.”
