The Cape boys’ tennis team fell to 3-3 on the season with a 5-0 loss to Caesar Rodney April 21.
Vikings first-singles player Nate Hoang fell in a 10-3 tiebreaker in the third set. Second-singles player Sullivan Naden and third-singles player Caidan Juliano also fell to their Riders’ opponents.
Michael Gordon and Jackson Hess dropped their first-doubles match, while the second-doubles team of Ace Crandell and De'Angelo Jackson lost to their CR opponent.
“I really felt Nate [Hoang] played outstanding tennis today,” said Cape coach Mike Roy. “His patience and maturity on court were on full display, and he very nearly pulled it off. He has come a long, long way since freshman year, and he has proved he can now go toe-to-toe with anyone in our conference.”
The Vikings travel to Smyrna Thursday, April 23 to face the Eagles.
