May 13, 2019

The Cape Henlopen Junior/Senior prom, “A Black Tie Affair,” was held May 4 at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach, where 526 students dressed to the nines and danced to pulse-pounding music by DJ Formula all evening. Food, refreshments and fun were the order of the evening.

“We developed a great relationship with the Rusty Rudder prior to the event which made for the evening to go off without any issues,” said junior class advisor Jenn Hagan. “We had a large dance floor for all of the students to enjoy an exciting evening of dancing and celebration. The support from the administrators and staff of CHHS made for an amazing night.”

A highlight of the evening was the crowning of Queen Leah Marsh and King Ryan Bixler.

Prior to the festivities at the Rusty Rudder, a promenade was held at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand where parents, relatives and friends could enjoy the introduction of the prom-goers as they strutted through the appreciative crowd gathered.
