Cape Community Fund offers support for neighbors in need

April 17, 2026

The Cape Community Fund held its Spring Bash April 12 at Irish Eyes in Lewes. It was the 12th annual event.

Entertainment was provided by Electric Smoke, 33 1/3 and The Funsters. A silent auction and a 50/50 were held along with complimentary food and a cash bar.

The Cape Community Fund was established by the Lewes High School Class of 1969 to assist people in times of crisis within the greater Cape Henlopen community. The group provides financial support to individuals and families in the Cape Henlopen School District facing unexpected hardship such as illness, fire or crisis.

“We are a 100% volunteer organization,” said board member Maryellen Kiernan. “We rely on the support of this wonderful community to help us help our neighbors.”

“We are starting our 13th year serving the Cape Region,” said Fund Chair Butch Archer. “We would like to thank all of our supporters who came out for our yearly fundraiser at Irish Eyes. Thank you for helping us support those with urgent needs in the community.”
