Cape football began five days of practices June 3, preferring the remoteness of the grass field to the distractions of Legends Stadium.
The Vikings are coming off a magical 2023 season, when they reached the state final for the first time since 1984.
The 2024 season will mark the third year for head coach Mike Frederick.
“We had 72 out the first day and handed out 80 helmets,” he said. “We brought back entire coaching staff with the addition of Mark Mayer, former football and baseball coach at Concord, and outside linebackers coach Edwin Dowgin, lead of the JROTC program at the high school and a former coach from New Jersey.”
