Cape Henlopen Elks help residents of Delaware Veterans Home
Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes has a long-standing supportive relationship with the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford.
The facility provides long-term care for veterans, including skilled nursing, family connection and enrichment activities.
The Cape Henlopen Elks recently responded to a special request from the Delaware Veterans Home, where residents were in need of a safe and easy way to unwind and destress, whether from PTSD or dementia. Waterless essential oil diffusers were chosen as a way to bring calm to the home. The Elks' veterans committee purchased two of these large-area diffusers, along with essential oil refills to last up to six months. After that time, the committee members hope the veterans might want to try different scents, which the Elks would then provide.
