Cape Henlopen Elks support veterans through fly-fishing program

April 4, 2026

The Veterans Committee of Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 near Lewes recently approved a $1,000 donation to support the Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Dover program, which guides veterans in need to recovery through fly fishing, mentoring and friendship.

The focus was to purchase 20 wading staffs at Cabela's outdoor sporting goods store. Because of the store's enthusiasm for the program, a discount enabled PHWFF to buy additional fly fishing equipment. The Dover program is preparing for a trip to upstate New York to fish the Salmon River.
