Cape Henlopen State Park open with restrictions

Programs canceled; campgrounds, beach, playground remain closed

Delaware State Parks, including Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, remain open but with restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 threat.

At 5 p.m. March 24, all beaches, playgrounds, restrooms, campsites, cottages and offices were closed to the public until Friday, May 15, or until the public health threat has been eliminated. In addition, all programs have been canceled until May 15. No entrance fees will be charged until Thursday, April 30.

Beach access within Cape Henlopen, Delaware Seashore and Fenwick Island state parks is prohibited. The Cape Henlopen fishing pier remains open and the parking lot is open and fishing is permitted at Indian River Inlet.
