Cape JROTC cadets assist Fort Miles Historical Association

April 6, 2022

Thirteen Cape High JROTC cadet volunteers assembled March 24 at Cape Henlopen State Park to help Fort Miles Historical Association’s full-time volunteers with a variety of ongoing renovation projects at the World War II defensive installation.

Cadets performed a multitude of jobs under the supervision of association personnel that included sweeping out the bunkers and helping get rid of debris from past storms. An additional bonus for the cadets was an opportunity to take a tour of the underground bunker and learn about some of the history Fort Miles has to offer as well as the history behind the restoration project.

Participating cadets included Brogan Conley, Tyler Holt, Camilla Lascano, Elie Cerchio, Cameron Bozman, Julian Callaway, Abby Scheffer, Jazmine Trejo, Emmanuel Majjul, Liam Drevno, Gianna Decker and William Green.
