Cape Henlopen School District officials alerted families Feb. 4, that it received an automated voice recorded threat. Other schools in the state also received the same message.
“The high school immediately notified law enforcement, who determined that there is no active threat and that this was a hoax made to cause disruption to school operations,” the district email reads. “Law enforcement will continue to work closely with high school administration as part of their standard procedures. The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and the instructional day is continuing as normal. If any additional information becomes available, we will communicate with families.”
