The Cape school board approved several administrative staffing changes at its May 8 meeting, including naming LouAnn Hudson as the district’s new assistant superintendent effective Tuesday, July 1.
Hudson currently serves as the district’s director of teacher and learning but will exit that role come July. She has overseen district-wide curriculum implementations, led strategic planning initiatives and supervised cabinet-level administrators.
Amanda Archambault, who’s currently the supervisor of elementary education, will be taking over the role of director of teaching and learning. She has managed elementary-level administrators and helped to implement and expand the Spanish immersion program.
The district added an athletics administrator position and merged the supervisor of early learning and supervisor of elementary education into one position, so as not to increase the total number of positions.
Audrey Dempsey, the current supervisor of early learning, was selected as the supervisor of elementary education and early learning.
David Frederick, currently the principal at Frederick D. Thomas Middle School, was named an athletics administrator and will be overseeing the athletics department at the high school and middle school levels.
The district posted the Fred Thomas principal position as an open position May 9.
Additionally, Elizabeth Cherico, currently the assistant principal at Little Vikings Pre-K at the Sussex Consortium, was promoted to principal.
According to Assistant Superintendent Jenny Nauman, who’s assuming the role of superintendent come July, “This reorganization will streamline communication and is part of a broader effort to align district leadership with the evolving needs of the school community and to ensure all students have access to high-quality instruction and support.”
