Cape seniors assemble in ‘26 formation for aerial class photo

October 31, 2025

Each fall, Cape Henlopen High School carries out a tradition that marks an exciting milestone for its rising graduates, the senior class aerial photo.

Current seniors gathered the morning of Oct. 21, on the Legends Stadium football field to form a giant figure 26, indicating their graduation year of 2026.

From high above, a drone operated by Cape High junior Layla Conn captured the moment, creating a striking image that represents not only the Class of 2026, but also the unity, pride and spirit that define the Vikings community.

What makes this tradition truly special is the sense of togetherness it embodies. As students stand side by side, friends, teammates, artists, scholars and leaders reflect on how far they’ve come and look ahead to the future that awaits beyond graduation. The aerial photo serves as both a celebration of their collective journey and a lasting keepsake for the entire class, symbolizing their place in Cape Henlopen’s proud legacy. The tradition has been taking place since 2015.
