Cape soccer battles Delmar to 0-0 tie

Vikings and Wildcats meet in final scrimmage tune up
March 19, 2025

The Vikings and Wildcats soccer teams met on Legends Field turf March 19, for their final tune-up scrimmage of the 2025 preseason. After 80 back-and-forth minutes, each team left with no goals scored.

Both teams had numerous opportunities, but back-line defense got the strikers frustrated, making several saves and clearing the ball from the scoring zones.

“I thought we put together a strong game,” said Cape coach Patrick Kilby. “It was our first real test of the preseason, and to have a clean sheet and earn a result was a good thing. We need to be more advantageous in attacking third and take advantage of our opportunities. I think our program is in a great spot right now. The girls are humming and we are meshing well.”

The Vikings open the regular season on the road Tuesday, March 25 with Brandywine. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
