March 30, 2022

The young Vikings squad fell to a strong Dover team 11-0 March 29 at Cape.

Alivia Heers and Jay'Lyn Slater each had a hit for the Lady Vikings, as they were outhit by the Lady Senators 10-2.

“We had some positive moments like a double play, and Slater and Heers getting the first hits of the season,” said head coach Shannon Timmons. “We had some moments where our team struggled. They started to press and play tight in the later innings, and those things will get corrected with time and experience playing together.”

Dover senior pitcher Alexis Dowdy had 12 strikeouts. Jamie Chandler went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

The Vikings travel to Early College High School Friday, April 1.
