Cape supervisor of inclusive learning earns statewide honor
The Cape Henlopen School District recently announced Dr. Eileen Baker, supervisor of inclusive learning, has been named 2025 Administrator of the Year by the Delaware Association of Special Education Professionals.
The award recognizes Baker’s outstanding leadership, dedication and advocacy in the field of special education. Her work has transformed the way inclusive services are delivered at Cape Henlopen, ensuring that all students, regardless of ability, have access to high-quality instruction, support and opportunity.
“Dr. Baker is a passionate, student-centered leader who continuously goes above and beyond to support students with disabilities, their families and our educators,” said Dr. Jenny Nauman, Cape district superintendent. “This recognition is a reflection of her relentless commitment to inclusion, equity and excellence.”
In her role as supervisor of inclusive learning, Baker has led key initiatives including enhanced professional development for staff, integrated classroom models, and districtwide efforts to strengthen collaboration between general and special education teams. Her leadership has fostered a culture of belonging and improved outcomes for countless students.
“I am incredibly honored to receive this award from DASEP,” said Baker. “The success of our inclusive programs is truly a team effort, and I’m grateful to work alongside such talented educators, administrators and families who share a vision for a more inclusive future.”
Baker was recognized during a June meeting held by the Delaware Association of School Administrators at Dover High School.
