Cape swimming takes win over CR

Vikings boys’ team record remains unblemished
January 26, 2023

The Cape boys’ swim team swam to 10-0 on the season with a 111-59 win over Caesar Rodney Jan. 24 at the Sussex Family YMCA in Rehoboth Beach. The girls moved to 9-1 with a 102-67 victory.

“CR is always tough, both boys and girls,” said Cape coach Bill Geppert. “They gave us a good test and swam well. We were fortunate to beat them. They always have a quality team.”

The Vikings travel to Sussex Academy Friday, Jan. 27.

“They are one of the best programs in the state and we get to swim against them every year,” Geppert said. “Their coaches do an outstanding job preparing them for the season and are always one of the best teams we face. To even give them a challenge, we have to swim our best times all season. I look forward to the opportunity, as it brings out the best in both programs.”

The CR boys are 6-2-1 and the girls are 3-6.
