Car crashes into Milford Dollar Tree

97-year-old woman injured during incident

A 97-year-old woman was critically injured June 7, when a car drove through the Dollar Tree south of Milford.

The crash happened at 3:25 p.m. when a gold Hyundai Elantra driven by a 44-year-old woman plowed into the Dollar Tree in the Cypress Hall Shopping Center off South DuPont Boulevard. For unknown reasons, police said, the car crashed through the storefront and continued moving toward the rear of the store where the 97-year-old patron was struck. A woman, 76, was injured from falling debris inside the store, police said.

The 97-year-old woman was airlifted to an area hospital where she is listed in stable but critical condition. The 44-year-old woman driving the Hyundai Elantra was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The 76-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released.
