Carol L. Absher passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family Wednesday, June 5, 2024. She was born July 15, 1943, in Millsboro, the cherished daughter of the late Melvin G. and Mollie (Jefferson) Brittingham.

Carol dedicated over 25 years of her life to working at ILC, where she was involved in the production of government-regulated masks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Grady Garris; her second husband, Levi Absher; her daughter, Lola Absher; and her stepchildren, Ralph Absher, Leroy Absher, Richard Absher, Barbara Warfle and Dexter Absher.

Carol is survived by her beloved children, Connie Garris of Milford, Linda Lape of Pennsylvania, Rebecca Mosley of Milford, and Brenda Taggart of Florida; and her siblings, Darlene Brittingham and Jesse Brittingham. She also leaves behind her stepchildren, Jay Absher, Susie Brittingham, Diane West and Nancy Passwaters; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 15, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Millsboro Cemetery immediately following the service.
