Charles Robert Beauregard, retired educator

September 4, 2024

Charles Robert Beauregard, 75, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes after experiencing a massive brain hemorrhage earlier that day. He was born Nov. 17, 1948, at Notre Dame Hospital in Manchester, N.H.

Charles is the son of Arthur Omer Beauregard and Claire (Robert) Beauregard, who both predeceased him. He attended John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from St. Anselm's College with a bachelor’s degree. Charles worked at Chapel Arts at St. Anselm's College while completing his degree and for several years subsequent. Charles was a special education aide and school teacher in the Goffstown and Manchester school systems. He then worked as a college textbook marketing representative for Houghton-Mifflin Publishing Company in the Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic state areas. In later years, he moved to Rehoboth Beach to care for his father after Arthur had a stroke, causing partial paralysis. Charles cared for his father 24/7, for 10 years until his father's death in May 2014. Charles was a proponent and participant in Overeaters Anonymous, which helped him greatly in his later years. He loved baking, cooking, oil painting, clay sculpting, gardening, the Lively Arts, museums, travel, and especially time with his parents and grandparents. Charles was also a proponent of organ donation, which he did at his death.

He is survived by his siblings, Andre' Beauregard, Esq. of Dover, Adele Beauregard Hagen (Svein Hagen) of Tjome, Norway, and Celeste Beauregard Venable (Mark Venable) of Arnold, Md.; his niece, Rosemary Claire Beauregard of Dover; his nephew, naval pilot veteran Adam Beauregard (Alyn); grand-nieces, Cora Beauregard and Camille Beauregard, all of Powhatan, Va.; maternal aunt, Monica (Robert) Donnelly of Tampa/St. Pete, Fla.; and over 50 cousins throughout the New England area and the U.S.

There is no memorial service currently planned.
