Check with the party before making up mind

June 17, 2025

I see from the Viewpoints pages that Senate Bill 159 has brought out the best in climate craziness. A writer last week pledged to keep voting Democrat until all of Delaware is covered in wind turbines. I asked myself, was this the earnestness of a Democrat in the full bloom of delusion or the expression of a satirist exposing the party’s absurdity? Honestly, who can tell the difference? Still, on the supposition the writer is a real person, I offer her my congratulations. You, madam, are safely removed from any appeal to reason and common sense. I do have a parting question for you. After fulfilling your plan to carpet our state with windmills to save the planet from a fraction of a degree in temperature rise over the next century, how do you plan to recharge your EV and heat your home when the wind stops blowing, or blows too hard or too erratically? Don’t waste your time asking the engineers. Check with the party. I’m sure it has a brilliant solution.
