Chic-fil-A holds mascot games fundraiser
Chick-fil-A at Rehoboth Beach celebrated its second anniversary with a Spirit Day Fundraiser to benefit the Wounded Warrior Fund May 23. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. a portion of all sales went to the Wounded Warrior Fund.
“Chick-fil-A is all about serving our community, and our team decided that for our second anniversary we should help raise awareness and funds for The Wounded Warriors,” said Zach Hayes, franchise operator of the Chick-fil-A at Rehoboth Beach.
The restaurant also hosted Mascot Games where six mascots from local area schools and restaurants competed in musical chairs, tug of war and an obstacle course. The mascots who participated in the Mascot Games were the Chick-fil-A Rehoboth Beach Cow, IHOP Pancake, Greene Turtle, Sussex Central Golden Knight, Sussex Tech Black Raven and Cape Henlopen High School Viking.
Six local musicians also performed for guests inside the restaurant. The musicians were Caitlyn Dempsey, Sarah Lowe, Alexis Brinsfield, TJ McGee, Kaila Clucas and Michael Faulknor. A balloon artist and face painters were also part of the anniversary celebration.
