The Rehoboth Art League is proud to be partnering with the Easterseals for a special exhibition showcasing artwork from participants in the Easterseals Artfulness program. “Artfulness with Easterseals” will be on display in the league’s Paynter Studio from May 29 to June 15, with an opening reception taking place on Thursday, May 29 from 5-7pm.
The Easterseals Artfulness program sponsors local artists who work with participants to discover the joy of art. Participants experience community activities at local art museums and galleries, and their creations are exhibited at art shows throughout the community. Through the Artfulness program, Easterseals collaborates with a number of organizations throughout the state, including the Rehoboth Art League. Art League instructors travel to the Easterseals office in Georgetown to provide workshops for participants in the adult day program and the intellectual disabilities program. Easterseals make a lasting difference each year by providing essential services to children and adults with disabilities, older adults, veterans, and their families.
Since its founding in 1938, the Rehoboth Art League RAL has worked to provide arts experiences through our events, exhibitions, and education programs. Through our Visual Arts Outreach program, the art league is able to bring arts experiences to Sussex County’s areas that are most in need of opportunity.
Developed in response to cuts made to arts education in public schools, RAL’s Outreach program now serves hundreds of students each year, including regularly working with the Easterseals. During scheduled classes, art league instructors travel all over southern Delaware to work with children, seniors, and other ‘at risk’ populations to offer free arts education.
