The 21st Annual Children’s Beach House Holiday Art Show and Sale will feature a gallery of nature photos by 20 photographers from across the Delmarva Peninsula of Nature Conservancy preserves and projects in Delaware.
This year the Children’s Beach House will partner with The Nature Conservancy to highlight the conservancy’s projects and preserves, which include the McCabe, Pemberton Forest, Middleford North Preserve and Milford Neck Preserve, as well as the Prime Hook and Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuges, Port Mahon, Assawoman Wildlife Refuge, Nanticoke River Wildlife Area, Blackbird Creek watershed and the Delaware Bay shores. Among photographers participating are Eric Crossan, Jay Fleming, Matthew Amey, Steven Billups, Elisa Morris, Brian G. Peters, Dolores Michels, Brian Truono, Brian Feeley, David Harp, Lisa Tossey and Lisa Goodman. Proceeds from the sale of these photos will benefit the Children’s Beach House and the Nature Conservancy Delaware chapter. Photographs taken at The Nature Conservancy’s McCabe Preserve by Children’s Beach House summer campers will also be on display. |
The Children’s Beach House will be featuring the works of almost 100 regional artists. The participating artists will display a mix of photography, painting, pottery, sculpture and more.
This will also be the fifth year the Children’s Beach House has chosen a featured artist for the event; this year features Richard Clifton. He will be auctioning an original painting titled “Silver Lake Canvasbacks” and will be donating 100 percent of the proceeds for this sealed bid auction to the Children’s Beach House.
The event will open with an exclusive reception from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 3. The guests at the opening reception will be able to enjoy a live pianist, an artist meet and greet, a sneak preview of all fine art collections, a fine jewelry exhibit courtesy of Elegant Slumming, and a chance to purchase raffle tickets for gift baskets valued over $500 each.
Tickets for the opening reception can be purchased in advance or at the door for $60 per person.
The art show will continue with free admission from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4, and noon to 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 5.
