Children’s Beach House golf classic events set May 17-18

The Children’s Beach House charity golf classic will kick off with a tap-in cocktail reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, May 17, at 1800 Bay Ave., Lewes. Guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and the excitement of live and silent auctions.
Golfers will take to the links Monday, May 18, at Peninsula Golf and Country Club for a premier day of play benefitting CBH’s year-round programs for vulnerable children, youth and families.
“This event brings together people who love great golf and who also believe in creating brighter futures for kids,” said Mary Ann Veitch, event co-chair. “The Peninsula is an incredible course, and it’s the perfect setting for a day that combines fun, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to the children and families served by Children’s Beach House.”
But the event is about more than a day on the course. It represents a long tradition of community support.
“The golf classic has been part of Children’s Beach House history for more than three decades,” said Bernie Polinski, co-chair. “What makes it special is seeing so many people come together each year to support programs that empower children and strengthen families.”
The golf classic is CBH’s longest-running special event. Started in 1991 by the late Rowland Marshall, a CBH trustee, it has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support programs serving children and families. Today, Children’s Beach House continues to expand its reach, serving communities from New Castle to Lewes to Seaford.
