Chocolate and wine event with author Anne Crown set May 24

“Evergreen” author Anne Crown will take part in a reading and chat from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, at Nassau Valley Vineyards, 32130 Winery Way, Lewes.

Admission is $25 and includes chocolate, cheeses, wine and an etched crystal Nassau Valley Vineyards tasting glass. Copies of “Evergreen” will be available for purchase.

Published by Byzantium Sky Press, “Evergreen” earned first-place awards for Best Novel and Best Book Design in this year’s Delaware Press Association Professional Communications Contest.

In the novel, Paris-based travel writer Emma Collins finds herself delving into her past, reflecting on her own life and dreams to find answers and meaning for the choices she’s made concerning love, while writing her own novel about the man she thinks was the only one for her.

Crown will read passages from “Evergreen” that bring to life the beauty of Provence’s countryside with its mountains, vineyards, lavender and sunflowers.

Attendees may savor artisanal chocolate truffles, cheeses, olive oil and award-winning Nassau Valley Vineyards wines while learning about France’s world of chocolate, and Emma’s experiences when she covers a chocolate festival in Marseilles and unexpectedly meets a new love interest.
