Christian day camp set July 27-31 at LCOS in Rehoboth Beach
Lutheran Church of Our Savior and Camp Mount Luther are partnering in ministry this summer, bringing fun, fellowship, and the love of God to the Rehoboth Beach area with a day camp program. Mount Luther sends trained staff to lead children and youth from kindergarten through sixth grade in a free week-long day camp. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday, July 27 to 31, at the church at 20276 Bay Vista Road in Rehoboth Beach.
Day camp is a terrific way to introduce a summer outdoor ministry experience to children and youth. Each day at camp provides examples of human kindness, cooperation and joyful enthusiasm, the benefits of spending time in an intentional Christian community. It is staffed by trained counselors from Camp Mount Luther in Mifflinburg, Pa., in cooperation with members of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior local congregation.
The trained staff, volunteers and clergy make it a point to illustrate a loving and caring environment for all campers. A typical camp schedule includes morning devotions, games, arts and crafts, Bible study, sports, music, special events and worship. The 2015 curriculum theme is A Love That Never Ends, which focuses on Old Testament heroes and shows how God loved them and how God loves everyone.
Camp Mount Luther offers year-round outdoor ministry programming, including eight weeks of summer camp. The camp is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and has a partnership relationship with the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania. The camp facilities are available for retreats and other meetings for church and civic groups during the non-summer months.
