Christopher Burgos named CEO at Diamond State Financial

Diamond State Financial Group announced that Christopher Burgos, CFP, ChFC, AIF, CFS, has been named chief executive officer, in addition to his current role as president and managing partner.

Raymond Bree, managing partner, founded the firm in 1989. Burgos joined in 2000. Together, Bree and Burgos built DSFG into the comprehensive financial services firm it is today. They have seen the firm grow to more than 50 employees serving Delaware and neighboring states.

Burgos is a highly experienced wealth manager who recently celebrated his 21st anniversary with Diamond State Financial. He has played an instrumental leadership role at the firm, including establishing its medical professionals division. He is a contributing author of the book, “Real Life Financial Planning for Physicians.” Burgos enjoys speaking on various financial topics through frequent seminars and educational events. His designations include the Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Financial Consultant, Accredited Investment Fiduciary and Certified Funds Specialist.

Burgos is is a University of Delaware graduate with a dual bachelor of science degree in marketing and management with a minor in economics. He is treasurer of Piedmont Baseball/Softball. He is a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Society of Financial Service Professionals Delaware chapter, and PRG, a marketing organization comprising accomplished financial services professionals within Securian Financial Services Inc. Burgos is a registered representative and investment advisor representative of Securian Financial Services Inc.

Burgos resides in Hockessin with his wife and three children, and is active in his community. He has helped fundraise more than $200,000 for breast cancer research through the infamous Pong for a Cure event held each October.
