Cinco De Mayo party raises $1,000 for Surfgimp Foundation

Big Chill Surf Cantina recently donated $1,000 to the Surfgimp Foundation with proceeds raised from its annual Cinco De Mayo celebration held May 4 this year. The day was enlivened with tequila, margaritas, live music, giveaways and a mechanical bull.

A local nonprofit, the Surfgimp Foundation is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to embrace an active lifestyle by offering financial grants. Disabled individuals often require support to embark on their most thrilling journeys. The foundation aims to facilitate these adventures by extending aid for additional expenses like equipment, travel, lessons and entry fees.

“The Surfgimp Foundation holds a special place in my heart,” said Matt Garbutt, Big Chill brand manager. “The organization is doing so many great things to support those with disabilities exploring their passions and giving them the opportunity to have such amazing experiences with the financial support the foundation offers.”
