May 27, 2015

Members of the Civil Air Patrol Coastal Patrol Base 2 Memorial Squadron held a communications exercise at the Sussex County Airport May 16. The Memorial Squadron was the lead unit for the exercise using Very High Frequency and High Frequency radio to train unit members in operations and control a ground team and aircraft in a simulated disaster plan.

Other Civil Air Patrol units in Delaware and Maryland were working with the local unit in the exercise. The unit will be in radio contact with the Civil Air Patrol Headquarters at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.
