Civil engineer D.J. Hughes visits Milton Elementary second-graders

Milton Elementary second-grade students started off their day March 12 with a presentation from a special guest speaker.
D.J. Hughes, a civil engineer for Davis Bowen & Friedel Inc., shared information with students about what goes into planning and designing new buildings and roadways. Hughes showed drawings of a couple of projects he’s worked on with the company, including plans for the new Milton Elementary School.
Students were excited to make a real-world connection with their science curriculum.
