Coastal Concerts announces officers for 2012-13 season
Coastal Concerts, which promotes classical music appreciation in southern Delaware and surrounding areas, elected officers for the upcoming season and welcomed a new member to its board of directors.
Denise Emery, previously the organization’s vice president, was elected president for the 2012-13 season. Stephen Tolbert and Frank Payton were re-elected as treasurer and secretary, respectively, and Immediate Past President David Cristy was named interim vice president until that position is filled.
In addition, Stuart J. Brahs was elected to the Coastal Concerts board for a three-year term. He is joined on the board by the officers and by returning directors John S. Boyer, Dan Crampton, Kat Huston, Roman Pawlowski and Barbara Passikoff. Edna V. Ellett continues as executive director of the nonprofit organization.
Coastal Concerts will once again feature world-class artists in a series of five concerts between October 2012 and April 2013. In addition to those performances, the organization provides scholarships to musically talented high school students in Sussex County. It also presents free educational concerts in Sussex County schools and offers free outreach concerts for senior citizens, families and children.
