Coastal Landscape Painting workshop set Oct. 11 at Gallery One with Martha Spak

September 11, 2014

Gallery One in Ocean View  will offer a one-day workshop, Coastal Landscape Painting, with noted artist Martha Spak from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, and will cover basic and some not-so-basic oil painting techniques in creating atmosphere in seascapes and landscapes.

The course begins with demonstrations for all areas of focus. Painting exercises will focus on different elements of seascape: clouds, skies, rocks, water, wet sand, and still and moving water reflections. Students will also learn to use painting glazes to increase brilliance and depth of the subject matter. The fee is $80 for beginner, intermediate and experienced students.

Her original work is in the permanent collections of many corporations, law firms and private collections. Her work is sold through home boutiques and national chains such as Crate and Barrel, Target and Arhaus.
