Congratulations to Goode and Thier

August 16, 2024

Congratulations to Suzanne Goode and Craig Thier on their election as Rehoboth Beach commissioners. The voters have made a wise choice in electing two skilled residents who demonstrate the ability to make informed decisions without relying excessively on unpaid, unelected consultants.

It is crucial that the remaining commissioners, the mayor and the city manager recognize and respond to the clear message sent by the voters: We want leaders who embody wisdom, action and the courage to trust their own judgment. This courage is nurtured by engaging with the community, by listening directly to the citizens of our small town.

The increasing number of neglected buildings on Rehoboth Avenue and at Baymart Plaza highlight the consequences of leadership that hesitates to take decisive action. This is where the just-say-no approach to development has led us.

Rehoboth Beach is rich in professional talent among those who choose to live here – people like Suzanne Goode, who are willing to contribute to our community. It's time to prioritize our citizens over consultants.
